Choosing the Right Coach Size for an India Tour or Wedding Group
Pick capacity from the busiest leg of the weekend—often ceremony-to-reception or airport arrival—then add buffer for last-minute relatives and garment bags. Forward-facing coaches keep large Indian family groups on one schedule.
Count the full family ecosystem
Include out-of-town guests, local relatives joining only for the reception, kids, and helpers carrying trays or gifts. Wedding weekends especially under-count when RSVPs are still fluid.
Elders need easy boarding and sensible dwell times. Do not choose a vehicle class only because a nightlife listing showed a higher “party capacity.”
Sprinter and executive vans (about 8–14)
Useful for bridal-party segments, priest/VIP moves, or staggered airport waves. Too small as the only vehicle for a full baraat guest list.
Minibuses (about 15–28)
Work for mid-size community outings, temple day trips, and smaller wedding hotel loops. Confirm aisle comfort in formal wear and whether two synchronized minibuses beat one coach at tight venues.
Full coaches (about 30–56)
The default for large India wedding guest shuttles and reunion-scale USA sightseeing. Plan curb space at banquet halls and temple parking rules before you fall in love with a 56-seat number.
A simple sizing rule
Under 12: Sprinter-class. 12–24: minibus. 25+ or heavy luggage/formal-wear volume: coach. Split groups when venues cannot accept a coach or when baraat timing and guest hotel loops conflict.
